Founder & Managing Director
Liam is the Founder and Managing Director of Steele Charles Ltd, a recruitment and headhunting consultancy supporting businesses with specialist, senior and strategically important appointments across the UK and internationally.
His approach centres on understanding people and businesses in depth. For Liam, a successful appointment goes beyond matching experience to a job description. It requires a clear understanding of an organisation’s ambitions, culture and challenges, alongside the motivations and aspirations of the individual joining it. That perspective shapes the way he works with both clients and candidates, from the first conversation through to placement and the ongoing relationship.
Liam’s recruitment experience spans a range of specialist markets, including legal services, corporate finance, renewable energy, technology, food manufacturing and aviation. His work includes supporting international law firms with appointments in New York, advising professional services businesses on senior hiring, and helping growing companies secure the technical and commercial expertise needed for their next stage of development.
As the founder of Steele Charles, Liam takes a hands-on role in client relationships and search assignments. He works closely with business owners, directors and leadership teams to define what an appointment needs to achieve, assess the relevant talent market and engage individuals whose experience can make a meaningful contribution. Through retained and exclusive mandates, he provides a focused, accountable service with clear communication throughout.
Relationship building is central to his work. Liam recognises that the strongest candidates are often those who are succeeding in their current roles and may only consider a move when the right opportunity arises. His approach is therefore discreet, thoughtful and exploratory, giving people the space to consider their next step while helping clients communicate what makes their opportunity compelling.
